A Lighter Side of Life

2008 rolls on: The new year is really moving forward for us. Our family business (Abby’s Grace) is really pushing on.. We are now selling at a nearby gift mall, so that has been a great blessing. Also on the calendar: we will soon be holding a church book study at our home, so that will be looked forward to; Ben’s birthday is coming up. I think it is totally unfair that his birthday is so close after Christmas, when the Lego sets are cheap, but that can’t be changed, now can it?; as far work goes, I am not doing much other than working around the yard, you know, raking the literally unending piles of pine needles and leaves, preparing for spring landscaping. In all the work and schoolwork I am doing, I am also remembering to read my bible everyday. If there is one thing I am learning in my Christian walk, it is to do all that I do for love of Christ. Though I cannot say that this is an easy thing to remember all the time, if I strive to do this, it can only bring me closer to my creator. Truly, to me, there can be no way greater of humbling yourself, than to do all, including work for the sake of your saviour. I do not say all of this to boast of myself, for my feeble and human efforts at it are worse even then ordinary. But doing things for Christ will surely make you feel that there is certainly a purpose in everything.

Entertainment: as far as that goes, there is not much to write. I am now listening to the ‘Lord of the Rings’ drama from BBC, which my sister got for Christmas. Though it is not as good as the movies, it is probably a must-have for all true Tolkien fans. One interesting bit of trivia is that Ian Holme, the actor who played Bilbo in the movies, plays Frodo in these dramas. Other than that all that I am entertaining myself with would be one of my five Third Day CDs. Movies to look forward to: Prince Caspian, 2008; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, 2010; and The Hobbit, 2010-2011.

  • Quote of the Day

“We love the old saints, missionaries, martyrs, and reformers. Our Luthers, Bunyans, Wesleys and Asburys, etc... We will write their biographies, reverence their memories, frame their epitaphs, and build their monuments. We will do anything except imitate them. We cherish the last drop of their blood, but watch carefully over the first drop of our own.”
