another ‘lighter side of life’

Sports & leisure: just thought I would give you an update on what I have been doing for fun lately. I have, of course, been playing more than my fair share of ping-pong. I even had the chance to play against Rocky! Sort of.

Over the past few weeks, I have had the opportunity to play lots of outdoor games with people that we have over. For some strange reason, I am always on the losing team. Not seriously, because you don’t think I could lose a game, do you?

I have also been occasionally playing chess with my younger brother Ben. I always let him win [wink wink].

And of course, in entertainment, all I have been doing is going on a six week journey through the Lord of the Rings films, watching one disc every Friday night. (If you want to know my opinion on the Rings films, just look at the post entitled ‘Good Fantasy’.)

Thought for today: I found this post in a book I am reading. I don’t know who the author is, but I thought, ‘I have just got to put that on my blog.’

“A babe on the breast of a maiden he lies,

Yet sits with his father on high in the skies.

Before him their faces the seraphim hide,

While Joseph stands waiting, unscared by his side.

O wonder of wonders, which none can unfold:

The ancient of days is an hour or two old.

The maker of all things is made of the earth,

Man is worshiped by angels, and God comes to birth!”

New page coming! Soon I will have my gallery page up. It will only have about ten or twelve pictures on it at a time, but I plan to change it periodically. Check it

I’m really enjoying the way you share what the Lord has been doing in you. Keep it up!
    Looking forward to the Gallery!
I think ‘Six Week Journey’ is a little dramatic.

  • Quote of the Day

“We love the old saints, missionaries, martyrs, and reformers. Our Luthers, Bunyans, Wesleys and Asburys, etc... We will write their biographies, reverence their memories, frame their epitaphs, and build their monuments. We will do anything except imitate them. We cherish the last drop of their blood, but watch carefully over the first drop of our own.”
