timely birthday post

Happy birthday: today, March 5th, is the fifteenth birthday of Malachi, a friend from church and one of my web advisors. Now Malachi, I know that you still think that you are still this young cool guy, but I pity you. You are five years from twenty, and its time to start moving into adulthood, and learning to drive, paying insurance, pre-planning your funeral, all that jazz. It is going to be tough.

But seriously, I hope that you would have a blessed rest-of-your-life, and that the Lord who made and sustains you would show more of himself throughout this coming year. May you bring honour to your parents in all that you do, and even more so may you bring glory to the father in heaven. You are continually in my prayers.

( oh yeah. Make sure that you get one of those little fat candles that look like a 15 for your cake. If you were to use that many regular candles, the cake might collapse.)

None of the ridiculous age jokes shown above are to be taken literally.J

Today from Tozer:

O, God, quicken to life every power within me, that I may lay hold on eternal things. Open my eyes that I may see; give me acute spiritual perception; enable me to taste Thee and know that Thou art good. Make heaven more real to me than [any] earthly thing has ever been

  • Quote of the Day

“We love the old saints, missionaries, martyrs, and reformers. Our Luthers, Bunyans, Wesleys and Asburys, etc... We will write their biographies, reverence their memories, frame their epitaphs, and build their monuments. We will do anything except imitate them. We cherish the last drop of their blood, but watch carefully over the first drop of our own.”
