Happy birthday: Trey! Today, Oct. 31st, is my brother Trey’s birthday. There are a million different things I could say, but, to tell you the truth, so much has already been said that I can’t seem to find the words. For starters, let me say that yesterday my dad threw a large surprise birthday dinner that, I think, was a pretty big success. Dad had been planning for…months. He sent e-mail out to about thirty different men to send Trey a letter and a [some] book[s]. this response was overwhelming. Letter’s and books poured in from a number of different sources, some unexpected. We were a little worried that Trey would find out: Trey was a little worried about what on earth we were planning. When the day arrived and Mr Ron asked if Trey had his speech prepared, that didn’t help. But when Trey came home, and we presented him with the letters (I’ve no idea’r how many) and the books (thirty-three. And counting) I thought Trey was going to break down. Or at least, I would if I were in his position: I almost did in mine. After the dinner, various men (mostly from the Church) stood and spoke to Trey on all sorts of issues, whilst others prayed over him. I think the entire time was blessed. We had some laughs, many cries, great food, and a priceless time. Happy birthday. Hey, you only turn eighteen once. But, on a more serious note, I ask that you all would pray for Trey as he enters a new year. That he would grow in the knowledge of Lord and Saviour, and each year would have him growing ever in, and relying more on, the grace of our God. Happy birthday Trey!!!!! (okay, I know that was brief, but it’s pretty much all I have time for now).

yet another “timely birthday post”
Today’s VerseMy soul longeth, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh cryeth out for the living God. For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand, I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

todays song:Oh that day when freed from sinning
I shall see Thy lovely face
Clothed then in blood-washed linen
How I'll sing Thy Sovereign Grace
Come my Lord no longer tarry,
Take my ransomed soul away
Send Thine angels now to carry
Me to realm s of endless day.
an overarching philosophy (for me, anyway)"I find that when I am most helped, I write: and that by writing, I am helped." Augustine of Hippo
Quote of the Day“We love the old saints, missionaries, martyrs, and reformers. Our Luthers, Bunyans, Wesleys and Asburys, etc... We will write their biographies, reverence their memories, frame their epitaphs, and build their monuments. We will do anything except imitate them. We cherish the last drop of their blood, but watch carefully over the first drop of our own.”
