a chance to live and to die

if Christ is real…

then a chance to serve is better than a chance to gain…

a chance to love in obscurity is better than a chance to love in public…

a chance to pray for someone you don’t like is better than a chance to have fun with someone you admire or adore…

a chance to eat is a chance to give thanks…

a chance to assert our rights is a chance to die to self…

a chance to suffer is a chance to lay one’s pipe next to the Fountain of living waters…

a temptation is a chance to win….

numbness in prayer is a chance to believe…

a chance to be in need is a chance to grow in faith…

being treated wrongly is a chance to love as Christ loved…

a chance to do the dishes is a chance to be with Him…

a chance to go to church is a chance to worship through song to God and manifested love to each other…

a chance to talk is a chance to listen…

a chance to sin is a chance to show Christ’s worth above and beyond the things of earth…

a chance to take a walk in a storm is a chance breath in God’s sweet air and to give thanks thereof…

a chance to stay awake in bed is a chance to think of Him…

a chance to walk by on the other side of the street is a chance to offer help…

a chance to help an orphan child brings to our rememberence that we were orphans…

a chance to not cold-shoulder a stranger is a chance to remember that we were once strangers…

a chance to cold-shoulder those whom we know best is a chance to remember that God knew us all to well when He sent His Son to die…

a chance to be ignored or ill-treated is a chance to live out agape…

a chance to live is a chance to Praise…

there’s no such thing as chance.

  • an overarching philosophy (for me, anyway)

  • Quote of the Day

“We love the old saints, missionaries, martyrs, and reformers. Our Luthers, Bunyans, Wesleys and Asburys, etc... We will write their biographies, reverence their memories, frame their epitaphs, and build their monuments. We will do anything except imitate them. We cherish the last drop of their blood, but watch carefully over the first drop of our own.”
